This tutorial is written from my own experience, and how I was taught to clean AI Images.
With that being said — I am not a professional. I am not claiming to have the best tubing abilities. But I do work hard
on my images. I even clean up real professional artists work when I see it needs done.
This is meant as guidance and help for anyone not knowing how to clean up AI Generated Imagery…
———————————-
When generating AI you will need a way to remove the background and have the image
on a transparent background.
One way to do this is to use a background remover site.
Photoroom is one. There are tons.
Save an .png
Open the image in your graphics editing program.
Paintshop Pro, Photoshop…
This tutorial is done in Adobe Photoshop Monthly Subscription.
Once you have your image open. IMMEDIATELY create a new layer and flood fill
with a color not in your image. Drag that below your image layer.
Now you can see what needs fixing and cleaning up.
This is VERY important!!

In this 1st sample I have outlined in pink the problem areas
that need extra cleaning. Too much shadow at the bottom, extra fluffy pieces that appear with
touches of white. That all needs to be chopped off.
Using the ‘Polygonal Lasso Tool’ you can chop them off by getting around them and hitting ‘delete’ on
your keyboard or ‘edit/cut’ on your graphics program.
Sometimes I used the lasso tool. Sometimes the poly lasso.
You will want to zoom in a lot. — 3 to 5 times. So you can see all the ghost pixels and extra bits
that could be left behind by the background remover.

In the above sample I have used green. This is what I notice after zooming in.
There are many more spots than that, that need help. Sometimes for very tiny areas
I will use the eraser on a 1 or 2 pixel.

The bottom right areas in green that I see needing attention; after zooming in…
Those fluffy branches have to be chopped off for your image to look clean and taken care of.
This needs to be done whether your image is in a kit or CU/PU pack for free or for cost.
